Right to Protection Project - R2P
QADER is implementing “Right to protection – R2P” project with the support of Caritas Germany. it is designed based on the recommendations of the first national conference on the Rights of females with disabilities to protection from Violence (September 2019), specifically with regards to strengthening the national protection services and programs and making them more disability inclusive; adapting current complaint mechanisms and systems to be inclusive and accessible to PwD, especially females with disabilities; and adapting and aligning national laws with international human rights treaties and conventions related to PwD.
Through this project, we seeks to create an ongoing and fundamental change in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, especially children, women and girls with disabilities, so that they can enjoy their rights to protection against violence and enjoy all their rights equally as other citizens. This may achieved through strengthening the existing protection and complaints systems/mechanisms to be inclusive and accessible, as well as strengthening the monitoring the implementation of human rights conventions, particularly the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), and The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
- Strengthening child protection program at Ministry of Health.
- Strengthening monitoring processes of government commitment towards the human rights conventions related to persons with disabilities.
- Analysing the current complaint mechanisms / systems with regards to their responsiveness to disability and gender.
