Coalition of organizations meet with Bethlehem and Beit Sahour Mayors

QADER for Community Development joined 12 organizations in a meetings with Bethlehem and Beit Sahour Mayors, Mrs. Vera Baboun and Mr. Hani Hayek. This meeting comes within a project implemented by the Students Forum aiming at developing social services….

The organization discussed the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in accessing public facilities, and called for introducing appropriate concepts and terminologies in dealing with PwD, forming a special committee to follow up PwD needs, and denying permits to public facilities that do not comply with accessibility requirements; making a reference to the MOU signed by several local authorities in Bethlehem Governorate on the International Day of People with Disabilities during December 2012.

Mrs. Vera Baboun asserted her commitment to work on these issues, and pledged to work for developing Bethlehem city as a model of justice and equality.
