QADER launches a platform for the Economic Empowerment Program of Persons with Disabilities.
QADER for Community Development launched the "QADER Platform for the Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities" on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Peace Center in Bethlehem.
Around 60 participants attended the launch event, including Management and Development Advisor at Oxfam – Palestine; Mr. Abdo Idris, President of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; and Mr. Ayman Odeh, Director of the Ministry of Labor Directorate in Bethlehem. Representatives from Bethlehem Municipality, the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bank of Palestine, local organizations addressing disability issues, and several persons with disabilities were also present.
During the event, attendees were introduced to the platform, how to access it, and its key features designed to support persons with disabilities. Additionally, discussions highlighted how companies and organizations in both the public and private sectors can benefit from the platform. The event concluded with an open discussion session for the audience.
The launch of the QADER Platform for Economic Empowerment is part of efforts to enhance access to the Palestinian labor market for persons with disabilities, especially given the significant challenges faced by the Palestinian people under occupation. The platform is an innovative and accessible tool that facilitates easy access and usage, aiming to enhance economic empowerment opportunities for persons with disabilities in employment and training.
The platform also provides comprehensive information on institutions across the public and private sectors, as well as entities involved in employment, lending, and economic empowerment, including business incubators, accelerators, and civil society organizations in the West Bank.
Additionally, the platform allows persons with disabilities who wish to participate in the Palestinian labor market to register. It also enables NGOs and civil society organizations to join, continuously update their data, and announce available opportunities.
