Last week, QADER for Community Development hosted representatives from CBM – Germany to plan the second phase of the "Enhancing Local Capacities for Comprehensive Community Development" project. This project is being implemented by QADER in five regions of the Hebron Governorate with the support of CBM. The second phase will extend to include wider areas across the Hebron, Bethlehem, and Salfit Governorates.
The visit included a tour to the Beit Ulla Municipality in the Hebron Governorate to follow up on the progress of the first phase of the project. During the visit, QADER's team met with members of the Beit Owa Municipal Council, the Youth Accountability Team, and the Rahma Association.
Discussions focused on the progress of the project, the challenges faced by people with disabilities in Beit Owa, and the importance of empowering and including people with disabilities in all aspects of life, particularly their participation in local developmental planning. The activities carried out by the Youth Accountability Team to improve the situation of people with disabilities in their town were also reviewed.
The first phase of the "Enhancing Local Capacities for Comprehensive Community Development" project is currently being implemented in five areas of Hebron Governorate: Beit Ulla, Al-Samou’, Beit Ummar, and Al-Dahireyyeh. The project aims to improve the participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in comprehensive community development processes and supports local developmental planning efforts.
