QADER Delegation Congratulates the Newly Elected Mayor and Municipal Council Members of Beit Jala and Affirms the Importance of Strengthening Partnership to Serve the Local Community
Beit Jala- A delegation from QADER for Community Development visited the Beit Jala Municipality on Thursday to congratulate Mr. Vladimir Bishara Kharoufa on his election as Mayor of Beit Jala, as well as the newly elected members of the Municipal Council. The delegation wished them success in leading the city’s development efforts and serving its residents during the coming period.
The delegation included Ms. Shereen Mauge, Chairperson of QADER’s Board of Directors; Mr. Jeries Abu Ghanam, Treasurer; Mrs. May Jaber, Board Member; Mrs. Lana Bandak, General Director; and Mrs. Ghaida Ayesh, Administrative and Financial Director.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed its pride in the longstanding relationship between QADER and the Beit Jala Municipality, commending the municipality’s developmental and community-oriented role in serving the local community and strengthening its resilience. The delegation also expressed its aspiration to embark on a new phase of cooperation and strategic partnership with the newly elected Municipal Council, contributing to inclusive local development and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for joint action, particularly in areas related to advancing inclusion, social justice, and the accessibility of services and public facilities for all members of the community, including persons with disabilities, older persons, and other groups facing increased vulnerability. The discussion also emphasized the importance of complementarity between local authorities and civil society organizations in addressing development challenges, enhancing community participation, and building a more inclusive and sustainable city.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation in the coming period to support the residents of Beit Jala and to strengthen a model of effective partnership between the municipality and civil society organizations that promotes sustainable development and responds to the needs of all segments of society.
