Asia-Pacific Joint Regional Social Work Conference: QADER Presents a Paper on Women with Disabilities
Bengaluru - QADER presented a paper on the implications of sexual abuse against women with disabilities in Palestine within the Asia-Pacific Joint Regional Social Work Conference, which was held in Bengaluru, India, between 17th to 20th September, 2019. Mohammad Al-Qaisi, Project Officer at QADER presented this paper in order to shed light on the role of social services, both academic and professional, in dealing with these issues and addressing them.
Over 531 delegates from 32 different countries from around the world attended this conference, which witnessed 213 oral presentations, 68 e-presentations and 57 poster presentations on the various sub themes.
The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) holds this international conference annually, in which many researchers, professionals and prominent activists in the social sciences participate. Therefore, QADER’s participation in the conference was of great significance, not only for the organization itself, but also for the social services sector and Palestine as a whole.
This conference was an opportunity for QADER to expand its network and to exchange ideas and experiences with experts in the fields of human rights, social work, and the disability sector.
