QADER Organizes Screening of "Bloody Basil"
30 January, 2018

Bethlehem – QADER for Community Development screened the film "Bloody Basil" on Monday 29/1/2018 at Dar Al Kalima University College of Arts and Culture.

The event was attended by a number of representatives of non-governmental organizations and representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

The film was produced by the Social and Economic Policies Monitor (Al Marsad), and narrates the experience of Palestinian women working in farms located within Israeli settlements in the Jordan Valley, and highlights the violations that they face as a result of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. It also shows the transformation of poor people who are forced to work in the agricultural sector within the settlements.

As part of the Palestinian Coalition for Economic and Social Rights (Adalah), Qader implemented this initiative in order to raise societal awareness of the reality of working women and shed light on the challenges they face, which this film succeeds to do in a powerful and emotional way.
