QADER in cooperation with MoE conducts training workshops on “Teacher Advisory Manual

In cooperation with Ministry of Education, QADER conducted series of 8 workshops in the west bank to introduce “The Teachers Advisory manual”. These workshops come within the framework of the project “Social Empowerment & Equality for Persons with Disabilities – SEED” in cooperation with the Italian Association for Solidarity Among People (AISPO), co-funded by the Italian Government (Italian Cooperation). It is worth mentioning that QADER prepared the manual in 2009 in cooperation with AISPO and Ministry of Education. The manual  was piloted in 16 schools in the West Bank, and at the beginning on 2012, Ministry of Education made the decision to adopt and disseminate the manual in all Palestinian schools. The advisory manual is implemented throughout the curriculum, and doesn’t need a separate learning program. 

Mr. Ziad Amro and Mrs. Hana Khayat carried out the workshops, which targeted 161 teachers and advisors working in 102 government schools, from 8 directorates. Participants appreciated the efforts made to enhance awareness and attitudes of students towards persons with disabilities.

The workshops focused on several topics, mainly the implementation of the activities of the manual, the appropriate mechanism, and a justification of the reasons to work on enhancing the students’ attitudes toward persons with disabilities.
