QADER for Community Development, in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government, organized a training workshop on March 4-5, 2024, on disability inclusion in local governance policies and strategies in Sorda – Ramallah.

The workshop, held at the National School of Administration in Sorda, was attended by 22 directors and employees from most of the public departments and relevant units within the Ministry of Local Government, as well as representatives from local governance directorates in Hebron, Bethlehem, and Salfit.

The workshop was led by Dr. Essam Abidin, an expert in legal and human rights affairs. The aim of the workshop was to enhance participants' knowledge of key concepts related to disability and persons with disabilities, to understand the reality of the rights of persons with disabilities in relation to local governance, identify major gaps in the rights system, and deepen participants' understanding of the system of rights for persons with disabilities in light of Palestinian legislation, national policies, and the international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and its entitlements.

This workshop was organized as part of the partnership between QADER and the Ministry of Local Government, within the first and second phases of the "Enhancing Inclusion and Resilience of Local Communities in the West Bank" project, implemented by QADER in partnership with CBM International.
