QADER and the Ministry of Social Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the assessment services for Children with Intellectual Disabilities
On Sunday the 6th of October, 2022, the Director General of QADER for Community Development; Mrs. Lana Bandak and the Minister of Social Development Dr. Ahmad Majdalani signed a three-year cooperation agreement that aims to develop the quality of assessment services for children with intellectual disabilities in accordance with the international standards and best practices, at the Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah.
The cooperation agreement aims to support the Ministry’s efforts to develop the quality of assessment services for children with intellectual disabilities, following the cooperation between QADER and Ministry of Health on enhancing the quality of diagnostics services for children with intellectual disabilities.
The cooperation with MoSD entails carrying out national consultations with key stakeholders among official institutions and civil society organizations for the development of quality standards of assessment services, supporting the capacities of the General Administration of Persons with Disabilities and the General Administration of Charitable Societies to develop the Ministry’s role in monitoring the quality of assessment services, in addition to developing the capabilities of professional staff and service providers to improve the quality of services provided to children with intellectual disabilities.
This cooperation comes within the “WE CARE” project “Promoting responsive quality services and protection measures for persons with disabilities in Palestine” in partnership with Caritas Germany and with the funding of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Furthermore, the two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding that aims to enhance and strengthen the cooperation between QADER and MoSD to support the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labor market, in addition to providing psychosocial support services for girls and women with disabilities.
