QADER Volunteers Continue to Provide People with Disabilities and their Families Necessary Materials to Counter the Spread of COVID-19
Bethlehem - Through volunteers from youth groups and partners, QADER distributed food parcels, sterilizers, and sanitary tools and supplies for persons with disabilities and their families in Battir, Al-Shawoura, Taqoa, Beit Ummar, Surif, and Kharas.
Young male and female volunteers devoted their time and efforts to serve the families of their region, by collecting information and inquiring about the needs of about 100 families in order to provide them with this assistance. Thanks to their efforts, QADER was able to provide assistance to more than 150 families, and is currently working to reach additional families in need.
This aid is supported by QADER’s partners; Caritas Germany, Children’s Relief Bethlehem, and MDM Switzerland. These aid packages included; sterilizers, detergents, medical supplies, masks, sanitary supplies, and food parcels.
Persons with disabilities and their families were among the most affected groups during the Coronavirus outbreak. Therefore, there are additional necessities that must be made available in order to maintain their safety, as many of these people have become isolated in their homes under quarantine, and cannot get access to services and information.
Moreover, the temporary closure of rehabilitation centers and daily care centers for people with severe disabilities causes them great harm, so work must be done immediately to reach them in their homes and provide all possible assistance and services that may contribute to their health and safety.
